Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Pencil & Me (Rithika Abba) collects, why, and the choices you have. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

When you order: your name, mobile number, email and delivery address, and what you bought.
When you pay: Razorpay handles your payment. We receive a payment reference and status, never your full card number, CVV or UPI PIN.
When you fill in a form (product request or newsletter): the details you type in.
When you browse: anonymous usage information such as pages visited, clicks, device and browser type, and approximate location from your IP address. See “Analytics” below.

Why we use it

To process, ship and support your orders, including sending tracking updates.
To reply to your product requests and messages.
To send our newsletter, only if you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe option.
To keep accounting and tax records that Indian law requires.
To understand how the shop is used and make it better.

We never sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Only the services needed to run the shop, and only what they need:

Razorpay: payment processing.
Courier partners: your name, phone and address, to deliver your order.
Resend: sends your order confirmation email.
Google (Gmail and Google Sheets): our inbox and our order list.
Web3Forms: delivers form submissions and order notifications to our inbox.
PostHog: website analytics (see below).
Cloudflare: hosts the website and forwards emails sent to hello@pencilandme.com.
Government authorities, when required by law.

Analytics and session recordings

We use PostHog to see which pages and products are popular and where people get stuck. This includes heatmaps and recordings of how visitors move through the site. Everything you type into forms is hidden in these recordings, and visitors stay anonymous. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, we don't collect analytics at all.

Cookies and local storage

Your cart is saved in your browser so it's still there when you come back. Our analytics tool uses cookies or local storage to tell new visits from returning ones. You can clear these anytime in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require, and other information only as long as we need it for the purposes above.

Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw consent (for example, unsubscribe from emails), or raise a complaint. Email hello@pencilandme.com. If you're not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

The shop is meant for adults. If you're under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to place your order.
